A Vertical Shift

Over the course of my relatively short existence, I have learned the importance of engaging in activities that take the mind away from the realities of life. Activities that offer a complete separation of thought and perspective. Activities that shift our focus from the horizontal plane to the vertical.

What sets splitboarding apart is its ability to immerse one’s self in nature's tranquil embrace. Imagine this: you find yourself surrounded by majestic mountains, blanketed with untouched powder. The only sound that reaches the ears are the rhythm of breathing and the subtle crunch of the splitboard breaking the silence. It's a moment of pure serenity, allowing for a deep connection with the beauty of the natural world.

With each gliding step ascending the mountain, a sense of accomplishment fills your being, knowing that limits are being pushed. The physical exertion becomes a rhythmic dance, harmonizing with the mountain itself. And as the top nears, breathtaking moments unfold—a reward that words can hardly capture.

The magic truly comes alive during the descent, as the world shifts to a vertical perspective, gliding down the slope of an untouched canvas, a sense of freedom fills the mind. The world becomes a blur of white, with the wind gently whispering in our ears as we gracefully carve our way through the snow. It's an exhilarating symphony of movement and grace, punctuated by occasional bursts of joy and awe.

Yet, it is the moments of silence that etch themselves into our memory. When we pause to catch our breath, surrounded by untouched wilderness, a profound stillness settles within. In this silence, one can truly appreciate the grandeur of nature and place within it. It serves as a humbling reminder of the vastness of the world and the importance of being fully present in each passing moment.
